From Skin to Canvas
Alex Fu is a Hong Kong contemporary Chinese calligraphy artist and tattoo artist. His practice began in tattoo culture and has expanded into original works on paper, wood, mirror and mixed media.
Without a formal art-school background, Alex developed his visual language through lived experience, Chinese characters and the discipline of tattooing. His artworks are not decorative calligraphy, but extensions of identity, memory and written culture.
