Beyond Doubt is an original Chinese calligraphy artwork by Hong Kong artist Alex Fu, created around the character 不惑 — a state of clarity written from within uncertainty. Rather than treating the word as fixed text, the composition allows the character to move as an emotional form: fractured, suspended, and searching for balance across grey ink wash and raw Xuan paper texture. The dark gestural strokes carry the physical intensity of calligraphy while echoing Alex Fu’s background in tattooing, where line, body, pressure, and identity are closely connected. About the Artist

Alex Fu is a Hong Kong Chinese calligraphy artist and tattoo artist whose work moves between paper, skin and cultural identity. His practice treats Chinese characters not only as written language, but as visual marks carrying memory, emotion and personal presence.

Through calligraphy, tattoo culture and contemporary material surfaces, Fu develops a language that connects Eastern typography, bodily permanence and Hong Kong’s underground creative culture.
