Artwork Statement

FLOW — 順 is an original ink work by Alex Fu, created around the Chinese character “順” — a word that carries the sense of flow, ease, order, and life moving without resistance. Made in 2025, the work responds to a year marked by disorder and uncertainty, turning the character into a visual wish for smoother ground ahead.

Rendered in ink and grey wash on Xuan paper, the composition balances force with release. The brushwork holds the physical intensity of calligraphy, while the textured background creates a quiet field around the character. Alex’s background in Chinese calligraphy and tattooing gives the work a bodily rhythm: the mark feels written, carved, and lived. 作品概念

《順》來自一個很直接的願望：在混亂之後，希望事情慢慢回到可行、可承受、可前進的狀態。

Alex 以「順」字入畫，不是把它寫成祝福語，而是將字的力量拆開成墨痕、方向與節奏。畫面中的灰墨像經歷過的噪音與阻滯，黑墨則保留一種仍然向前的力度。這個「順」不是一帆風順的口號，而是在不順之中重新整理自己，讓身體、心境與生活再次找到流動。
